The new expansion to the Blade Runner RPG, titled Replicant Rebellion, launched on Kickstarter today and was fully funded in an astounding 12 minutes! It soared past its initial goal of just over $23,000 and has already reached over $133,000. With the Kickstarter open until June 13th, the question now is how many stretch goals will be achieved?
We first covered the news of this Blade Runner expansion when it was announced by Free League Publishing. The core RPG was released in 2022 and went on to be an award-winner. The main creative team is behind this exciting new expansion that has players take the role of the Replicants. The campaign follows the Replicant Underground as players get a chance to fight corruption, dodge the law, and engage in covert operations.
There are a number of stretch goals available to reach before the campaign ends.
- At $500K the archetype the Powerbroker is unlocked, letting players take the role of a member of a powerful and influential family.
- At $1 Million all full content modules for the Blade Runner RPG and Replicant Rebellion will be available on the Alchemy virtual tabletop platform.
- At $1.5 Million a handout called a Heat Meter helps track in-game consequences.
- At $2 Million another archetype, the Doctor, is unlocked that is a technological hacker.
For the Rebellion, players will run their own independent crew who must undertake a variety of operations, all while attempting to maintain their cover and keep their records clean. Are they helping fugitive Replicants evade capture? Sabotaging the titans of the Replicant trade? Grappling with the cops, courts, and megacorps? Clashing with warring crews and syndicates? Smoking out moles in your midst? In this big city of dazzling lights and moral contradictions, Replicant Rebellion flips the famous script of the beloved Blade Runner universe and dares you to explore how much you’re willing to lose for a cause sacrificing it all.
