Dead by Daylight held its 8th-anniversary stream, and fans of the game have a lot to look forward to. The new Dungeons & Dragons chapter was revealed, and a future Castlevania chapter was teased, there’s an exciting 2v8 mode coming, and two new games were shown, one with a surprise release.
Dungeons & Dragons Chapter
Starting with the D&D content, the Dead by Daylight 8th-anniversary stream showed Vecna, or The Lich, as a new Killer voiced by Matt Mercer and a Bard named Aestri Yazar as Survivor. Forgotten Ruins is the new D&D-inspired map, which is filled with Easter eggs, including a Beholder that tries to thrash at you through a locked gate. All of this is currently available in the Public Test-Build.
Dead by Daylight 2v8
The new upcoming mode will be the biggest change we have seen to Dead by Daylight in some time. In this mode, two Killers will hunt down eight Survivors on a larger map. Cages take the place of hooks, and perks will be replaced with a new class system in this mode. The usual 1v4 mode will still be available. The mode will be shown off more in July.
New games
The Dead by Daylight 8th-anniversary stream also gave updates on the initiative to expand the universe with more games. A new PvE cooperative shooter is on the way, currently called Project T. You can see the first look below and join the Insider Program to playtest the upcoming game.
What the Fog was surprise-released today. This two-player co-op rogue-lite has chibi-versions of some of the Survivors as they try to survive an onslaught of monsters and horrors. The game can be bought for $4.99 on Steam or downloaded for free after registering or signing in to your Behaviour account and then linking your Steam account.
Finally, The Casting of Frank Stone got a new trailer, which is still expected to be released this year, but no firm date has been set.
We were expecting quite a bit from the Dead by Daylight 8th-anniversary stream, but we would say this definitely exceeded our expectations. Lots to look forward to as the Fog continues to expand.
