One of the best parts of being part of any fandom is enjoying all the fantastic fanart and fanworks that people create. As we grow as a site, we at Game Sandwich want to celebrate our video game community and all its creativity. So, starting this June, we’re going to post a fanart highlight every week. Obviously, there’s far too much amazing art out there to get every piece, so just know that we’re simply choosing some of our faves that come across our timelines. All of you fan artists are amazing and we’re so excited to catch your art when we can.
Say hello to this vibrant The Last of Us Clicker and its artist, breadbutnotnsfw! They are a wonderful multi-fandom artist who makes fantastically eerie art in the best possible way. We really love the watercolor way the colors blend together on this frighteningly beautiful fungi-head.
A little more TTRPG than video games, EmptyJunior is a TikTok comedian who also creates art. Recently, they made an art series for the Dimension 20 TTRPG game, The Ravening War. Every one of their player and NPC interpretations has been ethereal and fantastic, with a really cool mix of biblical and mythical flair.
Who doesn’t love a little punk in June? erlie is a Finnish artist who often posts queer D&D art, but also sometimes other fandom content, like this rad Punk Spider-Man art. With Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse‘s recent release and the upcoming Spider-Man game for the PS5, it’s a great time to be a fan of the webslinger and his many forms. We love that this piece emulates the punk aesthetic’s bold shapes and colors.
In honor of the recently released Diablo IV, of course we were on the hunt for some great Diablo art. This very unique piece comes pebsterino. While there’s tons of Lilith love online, we really enjoy seeing this eerie but soft portrayal of Rathma, the fascinating necromancer son of an angel and a demon. Pebsterino also does great art of other demons and fantasy characters, Like Aatrox, Zenos, and more.
Seong-Une, also known as Karmindy, is a stunning artist with a deep love for Dragon Age. We adore this tribute to old Inquisition concept art and the Solas that could’ve been — a brown elf with fantastic dreadlocks vs. the egg we all know and have complicated feelings for. If you love Dragon Age fanart, head to their page.
While one great piece is amazing, some artists go the extra mile and do a whole set of beautiful designs. The artist Vodkin is creating an entire Witcher 3 Tarot series, like this beautiful, battle-ready Ciri as The Star. Other cards have included classic Witcher characters like Calanthe, Olgierd, Filippa, and more. Their shapely, angular, well-detailed art style is such a great fit for this olden, medieval, mystical vibe.
