War may never change but Magic: The Gathering is constantly getting updates with the latest in the form of a Fallout-themed set. Based on the RPG series, the new set is adding four new Commander Decks including iconic characters, weapons, abilities, and lands from the Fallout games. You’ll be able to play best boy Dogmeat and even encounter Mr. House.
What cards are in the Fallout Magic: The Gathering set?
The Fallout card set will revolve around Survival, Technology, Military, and Mutants. Each Commander Deck focuses on one of the aspects and has a character card associated with each one. You’ll even find Nuka-Cola themed cards in the set as well. Bottle caps are still valuable in the world of Magic: The Gathering and for each Nuka-Cola you drink, you’ll gain a bit of life.

If you want to build a deck focused on Survival, you’ll have Legendary Creature Dogmeat representing you. The greatest boy is best paired with Aura and Equipment cards as his ability allows you to play a card from the top of your deck.
Whereas, Dr. Li works best in an artifact-heavy deck. For each artifact you play, you can choose to empower your creatures, draw a card, or draw an artifact from your graveyard. Technology decks use energy powered weapons, robots, and a resource called Energy. The new mechanic works similarly to land and tokens and allows you to spend Energy to do certain things.
The two other iconic cards are Caesar and Mothman. Caesar from Fallout: New Vegas represents the Military deck, while Mothman pairs with the Mutant deck. For those who side with Caesar, you’ll recruit raiders to your cause and raise an army worthy of the Wasteland. While a Mutant deck focuses on mutated creatures such as Fallout 76’s Mothman and series favorites Feral Ghouls.
When does the Fallout Magic: The Gathering set release?
Magic: The Gathering – Fallout will be released on March 8, 2024. There’s still plenty of time before it releases, leaving you freedom to stock up on bottle caps.
Magic: The Gathering is typically inspired by the fantasy genre but previous releases have seen sci-fi inspirations such as Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. The Fallout set is the first sci-fi post-nuclear theme for the game.
