History has a tendency to repeat itself with Rockstar showing a particular pattern of revealing release dates for its popular game franchises. With the whole internet buzzing about when the game will get its second trailer, fans are desperate to learn when they will be able to jump back into their favorite game series. Unfortunately, Rockstar has yet to say anything about a second trailer, and other seemingly popular dates have passed. One fan has not pointed out that history could once again repeat itself and theorized that the GTA VI release date announcement will happen before the Q1 Take-Two earnings call.
The last time fans were hyped about the second trailer for GTA VI being revealed, it was because of the “27th theory” which stated that the game would be shown off on the 27th of December. At this point, many are thinking that Rockstar is choosing to stay quiet to let fans increase the hype and it certainly seems to be working.
GTA VI release date could be revealed before February 6th
The popular GTA VI account on X, GTA 6 Countdown, recently posted about a theory that says that history will repeat itself and Rockstar will unveil the release date for the next game in the series before the Q1Take-Two earnings call happening on February 6, 2025. As evidence to back up the user’s theory, they posted a photo of four different release date reveal dates. These are as follows:
- Grand Theft Auto IV – January 24, 2008
- Max Payne 3 – January 17, 2012
- Grand Theft Auto V – January 31, 2013
- Red Dead Redemption 2 – February 1, 2018

With the Take-Two earnings call approaching, Rockstar is expected to make some sort of announcement about the upcoming game. Of course, there are plenty who think that the game will inevitably be delayed to 2026 as the fall 2025 release window feels too short notice. We remain hopeful that the theory holds true and that Rockstar will reveal some sort of information about GTA VI before the upcoming earnings call. It is important to note, however, that nothing has been planned by Rockstar yet but that could change.
