Helldivers 2 players want changes made to bots and it starts with resistance

The Automatons are notoriously more difficult to deal with than the Terminids in Helldivers 2. Terminids can easily be melted with fire weapons and they are much easier to escape when things get tough. Automatons, on the other hand, have more resistance and can more easily hurt you by using ranged attacks. Thanks to this, some fans have gotten together to talk about how Automatons should be changed in future updates. The starting point; resistance.

Reddit user Amazing_Country_6899 created a post with a simple statement. “If fire does more damage to bugs, electricity should do more to bots.” Many took to the comment section to agree with the statement with some complaining about the changes made to the Arc Thrower and how it doesn’t stagger Hulks. Automatons in Helldivers 2 rely too much on accuracy and armor penetration to do high damage. Like Terminids, they should have a weakness, but it doesn’t have to be electricity.

Why don’t they short circuit?

Instead of electricity doing high damage, the team at Arrowhead could create water weapons. This could be an interesting way to add a new element to the game and a chance to make water weapons much cooler than companies have made them in the past. One user commented on the post saying, “Water weapons!!! MAKE. IT. HAPPEN.” Other players simply said cryo weapons would be fun to have.

We have to agree that cryo weapons would make a great addition to the game and could be used as a means of destroying the bots by making the metal brittle. On ice planets, Automatons could have weaker resistance due to the metal being cold. It would be an interesting way to change up the game moving forward. Of course, we could have already had cryo weapons in the recent Warbond, but that is a talk best left for another day. After all, Arrowhead already dropped the ball with the Polar Patriots Warbond.
