Helldivers 2 is not a game that requires you to spend a lot of money to play it. Once you have made that initial purchase, you can get all of the in-game items for free if you grind enough Super Credits. In this day and age, a game like Helldivers 2 is a breath of fresh air when compared to countless titles that offer in-game purchases that feel as if you are forced into buying them. With that being said, there are players willing to purchase specific items if Arrowhead were to release them. To this, Helldivers 2 CEO Jorjani stated he is, “not opposed to selling stuff.”
Recently, Helldivers 2 fans showed how thankful they are that the game doesn’t have an overwhelming amount of UI options. The Helldivers 2 CCO also talked about how increasing the team size from four to eight players is “not impossible.”
Helldivers 2 CEO talks about in-game purchases
Helldivers 2 CEO Shams Jorjani has been quite talkative over the holiday break – frequently responding to fans in the Discord server and answering questions. One fan asked about the possibility of selling more items saying, “What are the thoughts on selling pre-order content as paid DLC? In the absence of a paint system, I find myself longing for that blue helmet/armor more and more often.” They went on to say, “Would that decision come to you, or would it be more of a decision from someone like Pilestedt?”

In response to this post, the Helldivers 2 CEO said, “It would be a decision for the game team with me and Pilen having a voice. I’d love to hear what the community thinks. I’m not opposed to selling stuff – but it needs to be a win both with the players – not just our wallet.” Again, this is nice to hear when many development studios are out to make as much money as possible through selling skins and other add-on content not needed to play the game.
