Many Helldivers 2 players are awaiting the next patch from Arrowhead. Currently, the patch does not have a date set. The latest information comes from Baskinator who said that there was no patch and that everyone would be pinged when it drops. Arrowhead has been steadily working on the next patch for Helldivers 2 and taking time to make sure everything with the patch works properly. Because of this, it may take some time before it gets released.
While awaiting the new patch, many jumped to the conclusion that this would be the “mother of all patches.” Previously, community manager Twinbeard let everyone know that he believes the spear is getting a fix in the next patch. He also said that there would be balancing fixes coming. Thanks to this, many assumed that this would be a dedicated balance patch or that it would be a massive fix for all of the game’s issues. Unfortunately, that is simply not the case.
Twinbeard took the time while under the weather to set everyone straight on the Helldivers 2 Discord server. He sent a message saying that this is not the “mother of all patches” and that it is also not “a dedicated balance patch.” He did say, however, that “there’ll be a little bit of everything” coming so we should see some balance issues tackled along with bug fixes and maybe more.
One issue that we know will be tackled in the upcoming update is the patrol spawn rate. This has been an issue for many players since the change happened because more enemies are spawning than are supposed to. This patch will hopefully bring more players back to the game as the player base has declined since the Sony debacle at the start of May.
There is little that we know about the patch some other additions that could be included are an emote wheel, additional information about supply lines, and a fix for the Spear’s poor targeting and lack of damage. Twinbeard has confirmed in another message that “The patch stew is simmering nicely.” Unfortunately, there is no ETA on when the patch will be out but at least we know that it getting there.
