The latest Helldivers 2 patch was expected to go live this week but was pushed back to focus on quality. Arrowhead stated recently that the developer plans on taking a slower approach to patches to help increase quality and have fewer issues with the game as a whole. As fans wait for the next patch, there is a new MO that focuses on destroying the supercolony on Meridia.
Recently, Helldivers 2 patches have done a bit more harm than good. Each patch has been met with criticism as it either adds a ton of new glitches and bugs to the game or the developers nerf every weapon that the players enjoy using. This has caused players to lose faith in Arrowhead, with some players to leave the game. Finally, after waiting out the week, we have been given an update on when to expect the next patch.
Community manager Baskinator announced on the official Helldivers 2 Discord server that the “next patch is expected in the second week of June.” A much later timeframe than many initially thought but this shows that Arrowhead is taking time to make it good. She also said, “Dedicating more time to each patch will allow us to provide a higher quality standard and reduce the pressure on our teams.”

Baskinator ended the post by saying, “Additionally, the cadence at which we were patching left us little time to engage with the community, or build Helldivers 2 alongside our players, in meaningful ways. This slower pace enables us to focus our energy more effectively, resulting in more impactful updates and a more enjoyable game experience for everyone.”
This is a welcome message as many have been asking for the team to slow down. Some have even been asking for the developers to stop pushing out new Warbonds each month to help the team feel less pressured. As stated previously, the upcoming update will not be a “dedicated balance patch.” However, it will have a “bit of everything” according to community manager Twinbeard. While it won’t be the “mother of all patches,” many are still excited about the additions Arrowhead will be making.
