Ragdolling has been a divisive issue in Helldivers 2 for some time now with many saying that would prefer to have it lessened overall. However, another large group of players say that the ragdoll effect in Helldivers 2 is perfectly fine. Debates have been discussing whether this feature is worth having in the game and whether or not to change it. That said, Arrowhead is looking into changing the ragdoll effect in Helldivers 2, which is confirmed through the known issues section of the latest patch.
Earlier this year, Arrowhead released a poll showing that players are sick of ragdolling so much during missions. When asked, “How do you feel about ragdolling in Helldivers 2 at the moment?” – over 38% of players responded, “It’s a bit too much at times.” We admit that we agree with this statement as it feels like we are constantly thrown around when playing bot missions.
In the latest patch of rHelldivers 2, Arrowhead fixed many issues that were linked to crashing. The team also fixed some bugs that have been in the game for a while such as the social menu not showing friends. Just as with previous patch notes, Arrowhead included a list of issues that are currently being worked on. In the top priority section the devs listed, “Excessive ragdolling” as an issue and stated that it leads to a “feeling of helplessness and frustration.”
Other issues that are listed are that players are “unable to emote when flying through the air” and “Stratagem balls bounce unpredictably off cliffs and some spots.” Each of these issues will be addressed sometime in the future but there is no clear date for when they will be taken care of. Considering ragdolling is such a divisive issue, we imagine that any change to it will be upsetting to a large portion of the game’s fanbase.
