There is an alternate reality out there where Arrowhead decided to add too much UI to Helldivers 2 and it is terrifying to think about. One fan of the game decided to make this a reality by creating an image that is a bit overwhelming to look at. The Helldivers 2 Media page on X picked it up and gave it a name of, “If Helldivers 2 was made by Ubisoft.” So what does the reality of Ubisoft creating Helldivers 2 look like in terms of its UI?
Recently, Helldivers 2 CCO Pilestedt spoke about increasing the Helldivers 2 team size saying it’s “not impossible.” After a bad start to the Helldivers 2 and Killzone collab, the second half of the collaboration was given out “free of charge.”
Helldivers 2 shows what the game would look like if Ubisoft made it
Helldivers 2 fan Muaxh03 created an image that showcases Helldivers 2 if the UI was bogged down like a modern MMO. This image was quickly picked up by the Helldivers 2 media page on X. This page gave the image the caption, “If Helldivers 2 was made by Ubisoft.” The post also reads, “Also I bet if Ubisoft made HD2 they would try to sell half a Warbond for the same price as the base game.”

Fans of the game immediately shared their thoughts on the matter with one saying, “Painful alternate reality…” To this, Pilestedt responded by saying, “True, and don’t get me started on how often there’s a knee-jerk from people in the games industry to want to add more UI.” He went on to mockingly quote others in the game development field by saying, “But it helps with on boarding, it doesn’t hurt anyone.”
Another user said, “Thank God it’s not made by a company like Ubisoft! I wonder how many good games we have missed out on because of stuff like this.” Many hopped on the post sharing their distaste for a bogged down UI and thanked Arrowhead for not adding unnecessary elements to Helldivers 2.
