Despite Arrowhead doing everything it can to help out Helldivers 2, there always seems to be an issue that plagues the community. Before, we had crashes and various nerfs, and now we have even more potentially game-breaking issues. Luckily, this issue isn’t affecting everyone – only bot-killers. The latest issue with Helldivers 2 has to do with Automaton eradication missions and it isn’t fun. In fact, it is making these mission types nearly impossible to complete.
Recently, Helldivers 2 got hit with a massive update that buffed many of the game’s weapons. The community managers are even teasing that more difficult missions could come in the future. However, before they implement more changes, the team will need to tackle the issues that are currently affecting the players. Specifically, they need to help out the bot-killers and increase the Automaton spawn rate.
As PerditusTDG pointed out on Reddit, the Automaton spawn rate during eradicate missions is so slow that it could “single-handedly cripple bot MOs until fixed.” For those who aren’t aware, players have begun to notice that destroying a drop ship full of Automatons only counts as 1% towards the goal for the mission. Sometimes, it doesn’t even count and players are rewarded with no increase in the percentage toward the completion of the mission. This has led to many not being able to complete eradication missions because the timer runs out.
Whether this change is intentional like the numerous stealth nerfs that happened with the last update or a bug, we don’t know. Arrowhead could have intentionally toyed with the spawn rates and went a bit too far or this could be a bug that is plaguing bot-killers everywhere. Multiple players have jumped on Reddit to voice their grievances with one user saying, “My partner and I failed an Eradication tonight because of the low spawn rates. It was just the two of us, neither of us was taking down dropships at all, but we still only got like 5% progress per wave. Normally we get swarmed from all directions with multiple ships per wave, but today we only got one single ship every 90 seconds.”
