Earlier this month, Helldivers 2 players were hit with a 500kg bomb that took a toll on the community; more specifically, PC players. Sony began enabling the requirement to link your Steam account to your PSN account which took the community by surprise. After this, many countries in the world got banned from being able to play Helldivers 2. As a result, many boycotted the game, spoke badly about Sony, and bombed the game with over 200,000 negative reviews. As Sony asks for friendship, some are reluctant to give it and others outright refuse to acknowledge Sony as more than the corporate entity it is.
Recently, a friend by the name of dremskiy made headlines in Helldivers 2 and was immortalized in a meme. As the official Helldivers 2 X page made a post regarding this event, the PlayStation UK account made an attempt to be recognized as a friend. Unfortunately for Sony, the company will need to try a bit harder than this as many aren’t buying it.
In response to Sony’s plea for friendship, many replied with the words, “Not you.” A brief statement to show that PlayStation isn’t welcome around these parts yet. Some gave a stark reminder of the events that transpired by saying, “unless you exist in one of the over 100 nations Sony won’t let you play from.”

There were even some who told Sony to go back and sympathize with the Automatons. Of course, there are many Helldivers who still side with Sony despite the controversial actions the company took earlier this month. Despite Sony changing its stance on the linking requirement, there has been no evidence that the company will unban the various countries that it banned earlier in the month. This shows that many still hold a grudge against the company and nobody knows if it will disappear anytime soon.
