Samples are something that almost any player will collect during a mission in Helldivers 2. They are used to purchase ship modules and get additional bonuses for your stratagems. The only players who don’t collect these are the ones who have purchased all of the ship modules and are maxed out. If that isn’t you, then this Samples Evac Rocket in Helldivers 2 is for you. If players have any luck, we will eventually see this special item get added to the game within the next century. Of course, it also depends on if Arrowhead is nice enough to include it in an upcoming update.
Helldivers 2 player Yurishenko94 posted about the Samples Evac Rocket on Reddit. The user described the rocket as “A small silo integrated into the hellpod, which has a rocket with enough fuel to reach the low orbit of the planet and, with a small compartment to send the samples collected by the Helldivers.” They also added that “The recovery maneuver is complex, so it can only be performed once per mission.”
This suggestion caught the eye of many Helldivers 2 players, some of which added their own ideas. One user suggested Arrowhead make this a side mission. They added that this would add more to do during missions, would not always guarantee that it spawns, and would guarantee samples for the squad when it does appear.
Plenty of other players added that this would be a great way to secure samples for the entire squad should things go south in the middle of a mission. Many in the comments are now asking Arrowhead to add this to the game in the future. Personally, we think this would be best implemented as a side mission. After all, we could always use more side content. Perhaps Arrowhead will add something like this when the devs bring in the Illuminate.
