Warbonds are a special time for Helldivers 2 players. When a new one is released, players flock to the game to see what new items they can get. The next Warbond for Helldivers 2 is the Viper Commandos. This Warbond is full of 80s nostalgia and it looks like it is ripped straight from the Predator movie. But what about the Warbond after Viper Commandos? Well, one player seems to have a very popular idea of where Arrowhead should go next with their in-game purchases; medieval times.
That’s right, Reddit user SimpingforTiredwomen posted what they think should be the Warbond to come after Viper Commandos and it rolls back the clock even further than Vietnam. It goes all the way back to the Renaissance. The simple question they posed was, “Who would be down for a knight-based Warbond?” This could be possible. After all, the user also reminded everyone of a quote from Arrowhead that reads, “The idea behind each Warbond is to allow our Helldivers to roleplay their favorite soldier fantasies within our universe.”
Some users posted images of the Space Marines from Warhammer which would definitely fit in the Helldivers universe. Others talked about bringing Lightsabers into the game which is something that the communities managers have said won’t happen. One user said, “Pretty much this. Something like more streamlined Space Marines from 40K maybe?” Another user posted an image of the Blood Dragon Armor from Mass Effect.
Another user named Soul_Bound brought the dream to life with the Liberty’s Crusade Warbond. When we imagine a Helldivers Rennaissance, we like to think of armor like this and some plasma-based swords. The shield would be a great addition as well as a booster that increases melee damage.
Whatever style it takes, many players are on board with the idea of bringing in a sci-fi Renaissance to Helldivers 2 for the next Warbond. One thing is certain, if Arrowhead were to create a Warbond like this, the devs would need to take the opportunity to add melee weapons to the game. After all, the community managers have been teasing melee weapons being possible for a long time. What better way to bring them into the game than by adding futuristic swords along with some knight armor?
