Each time there is a new patch for Helldivers 2, a list of known issues comes along with it. This time, there is a new Helldivers 2 crash that needs to be ironed out before more are affected by it. This is called the “social feature crash” and it is affecting those who, you guessed it, are using the social features in the game. Of course, there are many other issues that players are facing since the latest update such as one that prevents them from standing when crouched with the Ballistic Shield on their back.

The latest Helldivers 2 patch was released earlier today and it provided the community with over 100 changes and fixes that have adjusted the game’s settings for the better. For instance, many weapons are now much more powerful, the Spear has better targeting, and patrols have been reverted to what they were previously. Unfortunately, the addition of invite-only lobbies seems to have affected the game’s stability and has led to crashes.

Earlier, community manager Twinbeard posted on the Helldivers 2 Discord saying that the team was aware of the crash. He stated, “As some of you have noticed, there’s an issue with social features in the game potentially crashing the game, primarily when opening the social menu.”

He went on to say “This can also appear when you hit Escape or open other menus.” If you have been affected by this crash, don’t worry, Twinbeard did say that the team is “currently working on how to best resolve it.” Twinbeard will also give an update to everyone as soon as more information is known. As of now, the only other information Twinbeard has shared is that “It’s linked to social features such as friends lists and stuff.” The team at Arrowhead knows why the issue is happening but they are currently figuring out the best way to resolve the issue.
