Khary Payton, the voice and motion capture actor playing Black Panther in Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has told The Direct that Amy Hennig’s game is currently planned to release around Christmas this year. When asked when we will see the game, he replied, “”We’re still working. We’re planning on 2025. We’re thinking like a Christmas situation, but I’m so excited.”
Will Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra come out this Christmas?
Right off the front, it is important to mention that game development is very complicated and Payton doesn’t have an impact on the everyday development of the game. Any info he has on the game’s release date could be out of date from last year. With that out of the way, a 2025 Christmas release for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra would be quite surprising. Rumors have swirled about Amy Hennig’s Marvel game for years, and our first look at it appeared about a year ago with the below story trailer. Since then, everything has been silent.
If the game is actually going to come out this year, or even if it gets delayed a few months into 2026, that surely means we are set to see gameplay and bigger reveal on it this year. Maybe at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest in early June?
In Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, Captain America forms an uneasy alliance with the Black Panther of that time, Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather. While we see early cutscenes of the two fighting, they will team-up to fight a common enemy in Hydra. Whenever this game releases, it will be Hennig’s first game release since Battlefield Hardline in 2015. Before that, she is most known for her written and directed work on the Uncharted and Legacy of Kain series.
