You might have noticed that far fewer members of Arrowhead have been active on social media. Since the Sony debacle that happened at the beginning of May, many of the devs have gone radio silent. This is partly due to how they were treated by the community. After all, some community managers were saying that they received death threats and images of their homes; one CM was even fired for encouraging players to review bomb the game. Now, more of the Helldivers 2 devs will be rejoining the community on social channels across the board to reestablish talks about where Helldivers 2 will be going in the future.
Within the last month or so, Shams Jorjani has taken over for old CEO Pilestedt at Arrowhead. Pilestedt decided to step down and become the CCO so he could focus more on making the game fun and less about the numbers. With Shams now steering the Arrowhead ship, he has asked the community to give feedback in a more meaningful and less chaotic way – calling for peace among fellow Helldivers.
Shams Jorjani is back and this time he has exciting news. In a post on his X page, Jorjani stated, “You’ll see more folks from the dev team that you can chat and talk to about the game.” These Arrowhead devs will be on the official Discord server, the Reddit page, and X/Twitter.
Until now, very few members of the Arrowhead team have been chatting with the community and most information has been coming from community managers Baskinator and Twinbeard via Discord. Jorjani and Pilestedt have also been sharing some information but are noticeably less likely to share information about the game than the community managers.
With this change, we can expect the devs to hear more criticism from the Helldivers 2 community involving changes made to weapons. We can also expect the community to share more of their thoughts on future additions to the game. Just remember to keep everything peaceful so Arrowhead doesn’t start going radio silent on us again.
