Needless to say, just about everything in the United States is up in the air when it comes to pricing thanks to the unknown world we live in with inflation and tariffs. Luckily, Nintendo has announced that pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will go live on April 24 in the US and Canada. Additionally, the original pricing for the console and its launch lineup of games will remain unchanged. However, accessories for the system will be increasing in price.
Given the alternative, we would say that we are pretty happy with the news that the Switch 2 will stay priced at $450. The pricing for Mario Kart World remaining at $80 is still disappointing, though. Since news came out that the game had an even more premium pricing, Nintendo fans have been spamming presentations with messages of “Drop the price!” This is speculation, but it appears there was only a chance of the number going up, not down.

Regardless, the best deal for the Switch 2 at launch will be the Mario Kart World bundle for $500. It comes with a digital copy of the game, but it is $30 cheaper than buying both separate. As for accessories, the cost of a pair of new Switch 2 joy-con is going up from $90 to $95. We now live in a world approaching $100 for the standard controller for a console. While it is good to hear game and console prices aren’t increasing yet, we live in about as volatile of a market as there has been in United States history. Who is to say that the situation doesn’t change just a year down the road.
