The latest Helldivers 2 Warbond called Viper Commandos has been fairly well received. With its change in style, many were excited to get their hands on the new items, skins, and emotes. After all, the latest Warbond is themed after jungle warfare such as movies like Predator or the real-life Vietnam War. This alone made many giddy at the thought of running around in sleeveless armor and camouflage. Unfortunately, the Viper Commandos Warbond is as well-received as Arrowhead would like. An ongoing poll shows that many prefer it over previous Warbonds but it is far from great.
Helldivers 2 community manager Baskinator posted some recent polls that still have around six days remaining. So far, almost 40,000 members of the Helldivers 2 community have responded to each poll. One poll shows that most players over 50% of players love the latest patch that added over 100 changes and fixes. The other poll shows that around 46% of players think the Viper Commandos Warbond is just okay.
A poll done in the past for the previous Warbond, Polar Patriots, showed that most players didn’t like the Warbond. With many players saying the latest Warbond is okay, Arrowhead has at least raised the bar slightly for its additional content by a small amount. If the devs can keep this up, we could see much better Warbonds in the future.
Since the release of the Viper Commandos Warbond in Helldivers 2, many have made suggestions for future Warbonds with one player throwing out the idea of a medieval-themed one with knight armor and swords. This could be possible especially since it has been hinted that Arrowhead might add melee weapons in the future. We got a throwing knife in the latest Warbond. This could pave the way for more unique weapons such as swords and shields in the future.
