Blizzard has revealed that there will be a big presentation called Overwatch 2 Spotlight happening on February 12 at 10 AM PT. This event will be on the official PlayOverwatch Twitch and YouTube channels and promises to reveal “groundbreaking changes to the PvP experience that will be unlike anything you’ve seen before.” The wording in the blog implies that everything shown will be added to the game this year.

What will be shown at Overwatch 2 Spotlight?

While we don’t know exactly what will be shown at Overwatch 2 Spotlight, it seems to be gearing up to be on par with the kind of announcements you would see at BlizzCon. While that show is on hiatus, it seems the Overwatch team has a lot they want to show fans to get excitement back in the game following Marvel Rivals taking over much of the hero shooter spotlight the last couple of months.

The blog reveals that multiple upcoming maps and heroes will be shown off. Season 14 just added Hazard as a playable character, so a new map is on the docket for Season 15, with the next hero to be following that. There is definitely more to this, though. The blog promises “incredible” changes to how Overwatch is played, which could mean 6v6 is coming back full-time, but we wouldn’t call that “groundbreaking.” There definitely seems to be more at play that will change the core of the game. New events, cosmetics, collaborations, and other content like that will likely be shown off too.

After the Overwatch 2 Spotlight premieres, streamers will be playing the new content from the Blizzard studio in Irvine, CA. Things have been relatively quiet on the Overwatch 2 front so far in 2025, so hopefully these announcements are as big as Blizzard is hyping them up to be.
