Pikmin 4 is coming up quickly with the release date set for the second half of July. Many fans of the series are excited to be able to make their own character and finally tell their own story in the Pikmin universe. There have been many details revealed about the upcoming game but it seems that more information has appeared, and it comes from an unlikely source; Pikmin 4 download cards.
The Tokyo Game Life Twitter page caught some new screenshots that appear on the Pikmin 4 download cards in Japan. On them appears to be information we didn’t know about the game.
If you take a look at the images, you can see that the Ice Pikmin are getting a nice display and can even be seen attacking a blue Bulborb. Based on the blue mist around the Bulborb, it is probably being frozen. There is also a screenshot of what appears to be a few Pikmin carrying an unconscious crew member. Perhaps a player two?
Other screenshots reveal earthly items like a kid’s toy mallet, a beach ball, origami cranes, and even a fidget spinner. What these will be used for other than creating new Pikmin, we have no idea. There is even a screenshot showing off the split-screen multiplayer that was announced earlier this year.
In the image, we can see two different players each controller their own Pikmin. It is still unknown whether or not the second player will be able to control their own character but it looks unlikely. This is because the final image on the box shows that player one has a character while player two has a crosshair. Maybe player two will be commanding the Pikmin from a remote source?
Nintendo has announced that there will be a Nintendo Direct on June 21 and that Pikmin will play a large role in it. Stay tuned for when the event goes live to see what else is announced about the upcoming game.
