Let’s face it, the PS5 Pro has not received the greatest reaction from fans. The reveal of the enhanced PS5 quickly sparked the creation of many memes as fans attempted to see the difference in quality from what the PS5 can do. Nevertheless, you still have those who will purchase the console so they have the newest and best equipment on the market. Thanks to the latest PlayStation State of Play, however, the mood surrounding the PS5 Pro has soured even more. Now, fans are questioning whether to get the console since all the games that are being released on it are either enhanced or remastered.
As the lineup trailer for the PlayStation 5 Pro will show you, there are no new games coming to the console. Games shown in the trailer include Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Horizon Forbidden West, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, Gran Turismo 7, Hogwarts Legacy, Alan Wake 2, Stellar Blade, Dragon’s Dogma II, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Rise of the Ronin, The First Descendant, Stellar Blade, and a few more. No new games are on the list and when the console isn’t showing much (if any) change from the base version, it leads players to doubt the purchase.
Now that Sony has had its latest PlayStation State of Play, the mood has soured even more. This is thanks to Sony neglecting to announce any new first-party games for the console outside of Ghost of Yotei (the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima), which will be released in 2025. In fact, many were disappointed by the State of Play with no attention being paid to games that fans have been asking for for a long time.
Sony posted about each of the announced games and updates on the official PlayStation X account. Unfortunately for Sony, many did not react well to the lackluster announcements from the PlayStation State of Play. One user posted, “$700 console for remastered video games” on the post about Horizon Zero Dawn getting remastered.
Others responded to the various posts by saying, “Y’all don’t listen to us at all.” Others took jabs at Sony by responding to game posts by saying, “I can’t wait for them to announce the remaster.” Sony definitely dropped the ball a bit when it came to the latest PlayStation State of Play. Hopefully, we will get more new announcements before the PlayStation 5 Pro is released in November.
