The Pokemon Company and DeNA’s hit mobile game Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has hit an astounding $208 million in gross revenue across both the Apple App Store and Google Play within its first month since its launch, according to AppMagic.
The revenue stream for this game has been on the rise steadily having hit $100 million in just a mere 17 days, averaging $6.5 million in daily player spending. Now when talking about it’s single best day so far the game netted $8.4 million on November 22nd which happened to be at the start of the games Fire Pokémon Mass Outbreak event. During this event players were incentivised to log in throughout the day to claim free and guaranteed fire type cards. This played heavily into the surge of players on that day due to how strong a fire type deck is during in-game battles.
As for where Pokémon TCG Pocket is making the most money it looks like Japan has held the steady lead since launch. Players located within Japan have contributed roughly $90.1 million in lifetime player spending to date, or if you are keeping score at home that’s around 42% of the total sum. The United States on the other hand went down to 27% of total spending since that first $100 million.
Within its first month of life Pokémon TCG Pocket has taken third place amongst all mobile Pokémon games for now. Within its meteoric rise TCG Pocket has surpassed Pokémon Sleep which was released in 2023 and Tencent’s Pokémon MOBA Pokémon Unite in gross lifetime revenue. This leaves Pokémon Masters EX and Pokémon GO as the only remaining games in front of Pokémon TCG Pocket. But looking at the numbers previously mentioned there might be a slim chance at the very least it takes the number two spot for the highest grossing Pokémon mobile game of all time.
