Pokémon TCG Pocket just revealed its newest expansion titled Space-Time Smackdown, coming to the game next week on January 29. This now marks the third set of cards to be released into the game since its initial release. While this will be the focus for many players looking to expand their library, trading will also be added to the game a day before that on January 28. You can watch the trailer announcing the new expansion below.

What is coming in Pokémon TCG Pocket Space-Time Smackdown?

On January 23rd, DeNA revealed via the official Pokémon TCG Pocket website the generation 4 legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia will be the stars of the show with both getting an EX card in the set. This reveal also backs prior rumors which indicated this next expansion will be more focused on generation 4. The starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup are featured alongside Pachirisu EX, Leafeon, Honchkrow, Gible, Cresselia, a Cynthia trainer card, and much more.

Of course, we also covered above that the trailer revealed that the highly anticipated trading feature will be headed to the game on January 28, just a day prior to the Space-Time Smackdown drop.

There is no indication on if Genetic Apex will be pulled from the game just yet, but it’s safe to say get to ripping packs as soon as possible if you are worried about losing access to them. Having first debuted in late October of 2024 the Genetic Apex set was the first taste of what this game had to offer, which did include a total of 286 cards. Shortly after the Mythical Island set was added to the game in mid-December of 2024 which introduced another 86 cards.
