The Disney Dreamlight Valley showcase has unveiled many new additions coming to the game in November 2024. This includes additional characters and more quality-of-life changes that players have been asking for. The team even gave everyone a sneak peek at the roadmap for the first half of 2025. If you are ready to see what awaits you in the Disney Dreamlight Valley November and December updates, continue on as we break down everything that was revealed in the live stream so you know what you have to look forward to.

What is coming in the free December update for Disney Dreamlight Valley?
There were multiple additions mentioned in the upcoming update but most players will want to know what free content will be coming. If you haven’t yet purchased the expansion pass or don’t plan on it, you will still get another character in the form of Sally. Last year, Gameloft introduced Jack Skellington to the game and so this year Sally will be added to the game.
Along with the new character, the team unveiled that they will be adding floating islands to Disney Dreamlight Valley. These islands will be available for purchase using your Dreamlight and will act as “blank slate” versions of the different biomes in Dreamlight Valley. You can decorate these islands as you see fit and travel to them at any time. You will also be able to visit them while you have friends in your valley.
Speaking of decorating, the team also unveiled a much-needed quality-of-life improvement coming in the December update. This new feature allows players to rotate objects and homes on a 16-point spin instead of the standard four-point system. That’s right, you will now be able to place objects diagonally in your valley. All of these additions, including a new Star Path will be available on December 4, 2024.

Everything coming in the paid November update for Disney Dreamlight Valley
If you want even more content for Disney Dreamlight Valley, there is another expansion pass that will unlock even more characters and an entirely new land. Gameloft unveiled the next paid content expansion for the game called The Storybook Vale. This expansion will become available on November 20, 2024, and include a plethora of new features.
First, you will be able to visit an entirely new land called Storybook Vale where life lately “hasn’t even so happily ever after.” A new story expansion will be included with the new location along with additional characters. Merida, Flynn Rider, and Hades will be available in the first part of the Storybook Vale expansion. Maleficent will be added in the second part of the expansion when it is released in 2025. If you are worried about the expansion being released in parts, don’t, because the team is releasing this expansion in two parts with as much content as the first expansion.
In addition to the character and the new story, players will also get a new Royal Tool called the Royal Net. This item will be used to catch Snippets – origami creatures that can be seen flying around Storybook Vale. Some rare Snippets will also appear around Dreamlight Valley. Catching these Snippets will allow players to play a tapestry mini-game to restore the pages of the Lorekeeper Book. The tapestries will also be able to be hung in your home.

What about the 2025 roadmap for Disney Dreamlight Valley?
Now that we have this year’s updates covered, what about next year’s updates? Well, the team at Gameloft unveiled the roadmap for the first half of 2025 with some hints about which characters will be added. First, in early 2025, we have Jasmin and Abu along with new world. Next, the team is adding Alice in Wonderland characters in the Spring of 2025. During the showcase, the team made sure to mention some magical tea parties. Finally, in the summer of 2025, Skull Rock will be getting some much-needed attention and we think it is obvious who will be making an appearance at that time. Are you ready to fly to Neverland?
