Super Mario Oreos pre-orders are jumping on the internet before they make their way to eBay

Oreo has announced a new line of limited-edition cookie designs centered around the Super Mario series. While not available in stores yet, you can pre-order up to five packs of Super Mario Oreos for $5 a piece right now.

While some people will likely be excited about a new pack of Oreos to eat, it should be noted these do not have any special flavoring. Instead, 16 designs engraved into the cookies make them “limited” and collectible. Here are all of the designs:

  • Mario
  • Luigi
  • Toad
  • Yoshi
  • Fire Flower
  • Super Mushroom
  • Coin
  • Super Star
  • Bowser
  • Bowser Jr.
  • Goomba
  • Boo
  • Blooper
  • Koopa Troopa
  • Piranha Plant
  • Spiny

You will notice the distinct absence of Princess Peach. The reasoning is, of course, that Peach is missing and Bowser is up to his usual antics of trying to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom. Regardless, that’s not a terrible lineup of notable characters and items.

Super Mario isn’t the first video game to be put into Oreos. Pokémon had a limited-time run in milk’s favorite cookie, also consisting of 16 designs. After that was released, many collectors took to eBay to auction off what they call “rare” cookies for anyone who would buy them. There are listings of completed sales that had people spending dozens and even hundreds of dollars for these cookies. Please don’t spend that kind of money on a pack of Oreos.

Regardless of your bad spending habits, it seems Mario is as popular as ever. Between the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and the excitement for the upcoming Super Marios Bros. Wonder, the plumber is everywhere right now. The Nintendo Switch may be getting close to the end of its run, but Nintendo is going to keep pushing its mascot as strong as ever.
