Solasta: Crown of the Magister is an RPG released by Tactical Adventures in 2020. Players enjoyed the indie game’s turn-based strategic battles, in-depth lore, and the ability to fully create your own custom adventuring party complete with personality traits. The game was based on the Dungeons & Dragons 5e system. Due to its success, the team at Modiphius are turning it into a tabletop experience called the Solasta Physical Sourcebook. But if you missed out on purchasing it through the Kickstarter the first time, you have a second chance! The revised edition is now available for pre-order with more content to enjoy.
The premise of Solasta: Crown of the Magister is that magic is now returning to the world after the damaging Cataclysm threw everything out of balance. Players create their own party of adventurers intent on going to the ruined Badlands for fortune and glory. And perhaps some magic items, as well. There are plenty of challenges to navigate across the Badlands, the city of Caer Cyflen, and everything in between. Expect political intrigue, struggling alliances, frightening monsters, and classic dungeon delves.
The revised campaign hardcover rulebook is 196 pages full of adventure, lore, and a comprehensive bestiary. The original sourcebook had 17 subclasses, but the new one gets up to 41 by incorporating all of the new subclasses released over the years. These include subclasses like the Stone Barbarian, the Court Mage Wizard, and the Swift Blade Ranger. It has full information on the world of Solasta encompassing the pantheon, a historical timeline, and the various factions within. It has stats for creatures found within the video game and the original rulebook. It also promises plenty of art to enjoy with early concepts included.
Those that ordered the original rulebook during the Kickstarter can get a discount code for the revised rulebook so long as it is pre-ordered prior to June 16th. Pre-ordering also earns a free PDF!
Pre-ordering is available now for $45.58 on Modiphius’ website. Orders are expected to ship this September. The free PDF will be delivered immediately.
Venture into the Badlands and fight hordes of Sorr-Akkath! The only question is: who will wear the Crown of the Magister?
