An Overwatch 2 x Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration has not officially come to the game, but a fan on Reddit has definitely gotten our minds spinning about how it could work. User Onframer has so far made three fan concepts that we think look great.
First, of course, we’ve got the original poster child for Overwatch, Tracer, who is dressed up as Sonic. In our minds, this is a perfect pairing. Tracer has spiky hair already and is built on speed, like the gaming icon. Seeing her put on the classic red and white shoes and be donned in blue looks great.
Our second skin in the Overwatch 2 x Sonic fan collaboration is the game’s newest hero, Juno, who takes on a Shadow the Hedgehog costume. For as bubbly of a personality as it seems Juno has, seeing her with a menacing scowl on her face is quite the change in personality. The fact that she uses hover boots to walk around does make this an interesting match, though.
The third and final skin that Onframer has made so far (so far) is Wrecking Ball with a Dr. Eggman skin. Hammond takes on a mustache and the notable red suit, which surprisingly looks perfect. We didn’t expect a hamster to cosplay as Robotnik so easily, but here we are. His ball mech also takes on the Death Egg look, which also looks amazing.
Needless to say, we are blown away by how well these Onframer fan concepts work. It likely will never happen, but if Overwatch 2 does ever get a Sonic the Hedgehog crossover, ideas like this would work perfectly. Other potential matchups we can think of would be Doomfist as Knuckles, Kiriko as Tails, and Sombra as Rouge.
