There are few constants in life, but it is quickly starting to feel like the string of Titanfall 3 rumors is starting to creep into that territory. An Apex Legends leaker called Yorotsuki on Twitter is claiming that the long awaited Titanfall 3 is releasing in 2026, with an official reveal happening at The Game Awards 2025 in December at the earliest. They apparently worked alongside another Apex Legends Leaker called Osvaldatore to corroborate the report.

Is Titanfall 3 actually happening?

As always, take any rumor you find online with a grain of salt. Even if Titanfall 3 is actually releasing in 2026 for now, things can change. Game development is very tough, and we are leaving room for a lot to happen between now and December. For example, a significant delay or the game can be outright canceled. It wouldn’t be the first time.

According to Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, development on Titanfall 3 has been shut down twice already. One reason for that axing was it being “too similar to Titanfall 2,” which we would kind of expect from a direct sequel. Titanfall 2 released in 2016 and was met very favorably by both critics and players. However, the game was sandwiched between Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and EA’s own Battlefield 1. No matter how good the game was, it was a longshot that Titanfall could compete against the two highest FPS contenders in the market at the time. Because of that failure, it looks like EA and Respawn want to mix up the formula, which in 2025, sounds a lot like incorporating either hero shooter or loot mechanics. Of course, that is just speculation, but hopefully it is not coming to that.

Since Titanfall 2’s release, Respawn for the most part seems to have moved on. Apex Legends shadow-dropped in 2019 at the height of battle royale games and, though its player numbers are much smaller than they used to be, it has had a long successful life overall. Other games Respawn have released include Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor and a VR game called Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.
