Challenge runs are something that souls-like games were made for. Since the release of Demon’s Souls, players have tried to one-up each other in different ways or challenge themselves to beat the games under specific conditions. Some streamers have taken the initiative to beat Elden Ring’s hardest boss, Malenia, with different weapons, backwards, with a ring-fit controller, and even with a dance pad. Now, a Twitch stream by the name of MissMikkaa has officially beat Elden Ring’s incredibly hard DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, with no help. This means that she didn’t rely on Scadutree Fragments or summons throughout the entire playthrough.

MissMikkaa is known for completing incredibly hard challenge runs on Elden Ring. Perhaps her most difficult challenge was beating Elden Ring on two different screens – one using a dance pad and the other using a controller. Using this method, she was able to beat Elden Ring’s toughest bosses but this came before the DLC.

Recently, the streamer posted her newest feat on her X account. It took 1,135 total deaths but she was able to complete the entirety of the DLC with no help from Scadutree Fragments or summons. Beating the DLC without summons is hard enough, but she was able to do it with no buffs from DLC’s mean mechanic.

I finally finished Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree! After 1135 total deaths we got the 0 Scadutree all bosses win! I was also sick for most of it unfortunately.

The last boss took me 516 tries and 16 hours, harder than Malenia.

For those who don’t know, FromSoftware added Scadutree Fragments to the DLC to increase your character’s stats and help them deal with the new deadly threats they would be facing. The developer has even stated that players should pick up the Scadutree Fragments or things will be incredibly difficult. Of course, not everyone is going to heed the warnings of the game’s creator. That is how you get amazing runs like MissMikkaa’s where someone beats Shadow of the Erdtree with zero fragments and no summons.

Next up on her list is to complete the DLC while using a dance pad. This is a challenge that some have already attempted and others have completed in the base game. Another streamer by the name of Perri recently beat one of the first bosses in the DLC with nothing but her mind. Needless to say, the challenge runs for this DLC are about to get even wilder.
