Starting an indie game studio is a daunting task—especially when equipped with nothing more than a dream and a bunch of questions regarding funding, incorporating, laws, and how to not lose one’s head in the process.
That’s why Cave Bear Games and Rainbow Unicorn Games are teaming up to impart their own wisdom based on their own successes and road bumps faced while currently working towards their first indie game releases.
Four professionals make up the event’s panel. Rainbow Unicorn Games offer up their own founder and industry veteran, Athena Peters. Peters boasts a resume that includes working for NCSoft and WB Games as a QA Lead and Executive Producer respectively. Cave Bear Games’s expertise will be represented by their very own creative director and founder, Ayla Derrick. Nicolas Lingenfelter is also representing Cave Bear Games with his extensive experience in financing, contracts, and budgets. Marc McClain rounds out the panel as a video game lawyer and chair-elect of the Orange County Bar Association Intellectual Property & Technology Law Section.
The event will be on Tuesday, June 30th, 2024 at 4:00 PT and will be live on both the Cave Bear Games’ Discord and LinkedIn.
