There have been a fair number of complaints about XDefiant since its launch which is to be expected with any new game. Many players have brought up hit registration, bunny hopping, and matchmaking as major issues to address. One of the biggest complaints, however, doesn’t come from gameplay bugs. Instead, this complaint is focused on a character’s ability. Specifically, XDefiant’s biggest complaint is the Echelon ability Intel Suit – a powerful sonar-like ability.
If you have not played as a member of Echelon yet, the Intel Suit is a powerful sonar ability that reveals the location of nearby enemies. This ability lasts for 15 seconds and has a 30-meter range. While useful during a match, it has been a constant conversation piece from the community and not a good conversation piece. As idrink2muchman pointed out on Reddit, many believe the Intel Suit “should not reveal enemies to the entire team.”
As the user stated in the post, “Being able to see the revealed enemies as the one who pulses or uses the ability is cool. But the whole team being able to see enemies when it’s not even an Ult is crazy. If my screen shows ‘revealed by intel suit’ I’m getting jumped from multiple angles and am just hoping to get one before I die.” They are not wrong, we have noticed that this ability beckons those around you to swarm your position if you are revealed. Very few times have we ever survived when the ability is used.
One user commented, “Having 3 ppl with intel suit on a team is just constant legal wallhacks, it’s dumb.” In response, one user added, “If Ubisoft has any clue whatsoever about what they are doing, there will be some tweaks coming, And this should be #1 on the list.” Another user added that they specifically use Echelon because of how overpowered the ability is. Of everything on the list of XDefiant complaints, we hope that this ability is the first one that Ubisoft tackles.
