XDefiant came in swinging when it launched in late May. Since then, the game has seen significant player activity with some saying they prefer the game over others in the genre like Call of Duty. While the game has seen great success, there are multiple issues that have been plaguing it since it launched. Thankfully, these issues have been slowly getting fixed thanks to the devs at Ubisoft. We have also been getting clear and constant communication from the game’s executive producer Mark Rubin on X. One such update that came recently is about XDefiant getting a highly-requested game mode.
XDefiant currently has five game modes which include Escort, Zone Control, Domination, Occupy, and Hot Shot. Each of these game modes is pretty similar to those found in other games except Hot Shot which sees a player get increased speed after picking up dropped tokens. Since launch, however, many have noticed that the game is missing a key game mode that is in many of its competitors; Team Deathmatch.
During a recent interview with IGN, it was confirmed that Team Deathmatch will be coming to XDefiant soon. To further confirm this, Mark Rubin took to X and posted, “I wanted to say that we have been listening to the amount of people asking for TDM and we will be adding it in a couple of weeks.” Not only is it confirmed that we will be getting this new game mode but we will also be getting another highly-requested game mode; Search and Destroy.
In response to the post on X, many users asked about Search and Destroy. To this, Mark responded by saying, “Still coming. More complicated mode to make.” There is currently no ETA that we know of for the Search and Destroy game mode but Team Deathmatch will be here soon. With how much the devs have been listening to the fanbase, we are sure to see even more game modes added in the future.
