News about the Nintendo Switch 2 has been everywhere in recent weeks. This is largely in part thanks to the countless leaks that have been spreading like wildfire. Nintendo has not even needed to say a word about its upcoming console thanks to the myriad of players talking about it. Similar to the GTA VI marketing strategy, silence is creating all the hype Nintendo needs. According to yet another leak about the system, we could be seeing a Nintendo Switch 2 announcement in January 2025. Let’s break down the supposed leak.
In recent weeks, the Nintendo Switch 2 has been everywhere. It started with a controller leak which then turned into a leak showcasing the tempered glass and a case. After that, we got word that the Nintendo Switch 2 will share the same operating system as its predecessor. Even a popular case manufacturer decided to post about its Nintendo Switch 2 case.
Nintendo Switch 2 reveal supposedly coming in January
Popular content creator NintenTalk, known for making content surrounding Nintendo titles, leaks, and deals, recently posted about the Nintendo Switch 2 on X saying, “Nintendo to reveal Nintendo Switch 2 in January.” He added, “This is coming from a major third-party developer contact I have.” He did not reveal who the contact is, only that they said the reveal would take place sometime next month. No exact date in January was given.

In addition to the information above, NintenTalk stated that their contact said, “Get ready to play modern AAA offerings on your Nintendo system in 2025.” The Nintendo Switch 2 is said to be as powerful as the PS4 system so triple-A titles would be expected to get ported over to the system after its launch. Take all of this with a grain of salt as we cannot confirm that this reveal date is accurate, only that Nintendo plans to reveal the system before the end of its fiscal year.
Another popular Nintendo content creator by the name of Nintendo Prime corroborated NintenTalk’s post by saying, “January is what I have also been told. And based on what I know, AAA offerings on Switch 2 are going to be absolutely insane.” Again, this could just be speculation so take it all with a grain of salt.
