The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is quite a large game so you’ll need some space on your Nintendo Switch to hold it all. The land of Hyrule is vast and you’ll explore the surface, below the ground, and far above it. Yet before you can dive into the sequel, having the correct amount of storage available is critical. Here’s the install and download size for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
What is the Tears of the Kingdom download size?
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom requires 16.3 GB of storage space on the Nintendo Switch. That’s more than half of the handheld’s total 32 GB available storage. So, you may need to make room for this follow-up to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The first game alone requires 14.4 GB, which will just barely leave you enough storage for both games at once. However, if you have all of the DLC — Pack 1: The Master Trials and DLC and Pack 2: The Champions’ Ballad — it’ll add 2.4 GB. Thus raising The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s install size to 16.4 GB.
Both games together with all of the DLC will take up 33.1 GB. Just too much for the Switch’s internal storage.
How long will Tears of the Kingdom take to install?
This will vary on the speed of your internet, though you can expect it to take anywhere between one hour to a couple of hours. If you want the game to download more quickly, make sure you are not using the internet for anything else. Also, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will not install if you are playing a game that uses internet connectivity. As the download size is not that large compared to other games, it shouldn’t take all that long for it to finish so you can get to playing.
