The Xbox Developer Direct just went down
0:02
And coming out, while we did get some answers as far as release dates go
0:07
I feel as if there's even bigger questions surrounding Xbox. Find out why, up next

The Xbox Developer Direct overall was pretty solid. We got a peek behind the curtain when it comes to Xbox's slate of games in 2024
0:42
And it's pretty safe to say they got a stacked lineup this year. We've seen the gameplay trailers, we got release dates or release windows depending on the game
0:51
and, at least for me coming out of all this, my hype levels are all the way up
0:56
Now I know for some this Direct was rather slow. We got five different games, each getting their proper time to shine
1:03
But the way I see it, with there only being five games shown off
1:07
this kind of showcase only tickles your fancy if you're interested about the games being presented
1:12
And I can speak to that because for me, Aura, History Untold, and Visions of Mana
1:16
are two titles I don't see myself picking up, so it was really only down to three games for me
1:22
That being Indiana Jones, of course, Avowed, and Hellblade II. Speaking of Hellblade II, let's chat about this game just a little bit
1:30
Now I'm excited about this game, no doubt. The story looks amazing, the gameplay looks smooth
1:36
and this is one of those games that's really gonna dig deep into your mind
1:40
But something Xbox said at the end of this reveal didn't sit right with me
1:46
Earlier this week, we got a story that came out that centered around someone at Ubisoft
1:50
essentially saying gamers just have to accept the idea of an all-digital future
1:55
And just a few days later, we are hit with the news that Hellblade II will be an all-digital release
2:02
This is a major AAA title for Xbox, and I'd go as far to argue they're pushing this game like it's a pillar for the brand
2:09
So I'm just kinda confused as to why they're going all-digital, and not releasing a physical version too
2:16
I don't know, maybe it's just me showing my age here, but the same thing happened with Alan Wake 2 last year, and that didn't sit well with many people
2:24
The only reason why I bring all of this up is an all-digital future in gaming scares a lot of people
2:30
This is because digital games on paper are pretty much a luxury
2:34
You can download any and all of your games whenever and wherever you want
2:39
But I've always said this idea is a textbook definition of a double-edged sword
2:44
especially when talking about game ownership, and what it really means to own a digital game
2:50
Now I don't want to be all doom and gloom because I'm still going to play this game
2:54
and I'm really excited for it. And hey, for those of you who'd like to purchase the game
2:59
it will come in at this cheaper price point of $50. This price point also reflects the length of the game which I think is great
3:06
which is around 8 hours. But this is something to keep an eye on
3:10
because when one game starts a trend like this, others no doubt will follow suit
3:15
And with all that being said, I'm going to pass this question off to you guys
3:20
Of all the games shown off here, which ones did you enjoy the most
3:23
For me, Indiana Jones and Avowed take the cake. Fall of 2024 for Xbox is going to be insane
