Alright, so pull up a chair and let's dive into this whole Xbox podcast and what exactly went
0:37
down. Up until 3pm yesterday, the internet was quite unsure exactly how this event would pan out
0:44
And I gotta be honest, up until that point, I was kind of just holding my breath all day
0:49
just to prepare for the worst. But Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, and Matt Booty, who are all key
0:55
figureheads over at Xbox, did a fairly good job addressing all of the wild speculation online
1:01
So I'm gonna try to do my best to address all of the key points for this podcast
1:06
so because today's Friday, I'm gonna give you the good stuff up first
1:10
so let's talk about exclusivity. This was a big talking point heading into this whole event
1:16
and as it stands right now, according to Phil Spencer himself, only 4 games will be heading
1:21
over to other consoles. Now, those platforms have yet to be named, but we think it's the Switch and
1:27
the PS5. And it's worth noting there's going to be no changes made to their exclusive strategy
1:32
moving forward. Now, as for what these games could be, we really don't know what they exactly are
1:37
Phil Spencer did note the games in question are more than a year old. Two of them are community
1:43
driven games, and two of them are other smaller games within the Xbox ecosystem. In lesser terms
1:49
the reasoning for all this is making money. They're going to be stockpiling the funding
1:53
needed for potential second entries to these games. Now, I'm not going to leave you empty
1:58
handed, because I compiled a list of games I think could fit the bill here. So if we were
2:03
led to believe those previous rumors and reports, I think Hi-Fi Rush is all but a safe bet up until
2:09
this point, and it would fit this description of a smaller game. Now, the second game in question
2:14
here is Pentamon, and I do think that game would pair nicely. As for those two community driven
2:19
games, Sea of Thieves was reported on heavily being one of those games, and personally, I think
2:25
a game that's going under the radar could be grounded. Now, we don't know when these games
2:30
will be announced, or where they're going to be announced, but I'd look to that rumored February
2:34
Nintendo Direct to potentially get further word there. Now, to calm the internet down even more
2:40
they clear as day stated Starfield and Indiana Jones are not a part of this all, and they will
2:46
remain console exclusives. Speaking of games, they talked a little bit about Xbox Game Pass
2:52
and they were also quick to confirm all of these games in question and games moving forward
2:58
will be hitting the service day and date. Now, that's a no brainer of course, but they did do
3:03
a good job to reassure fans who invested in the service. Now, heading into this all, I thought it
3:08
would be pretty nice to hear about Activision Blizzard games, and where they could possibly
3:13
stand when it comes to Xbox Game Pass. Turns out Diablo 4 will be the first game to hit the service
3:19
and that's all happening on March 28th. And since there was talk about Xbox Game Pass going to other
3:25
consoles at least as of right now, the plan is to only have Game Pass exist on the PC and the Xbox
3:32
console itself. Now, let's say you've compiled this massive library of games, whether that be
3:38
through digital or physical means. Xbox addressed this matter as well, but admittedly they kinda
3:45
did this through a sneaky means of calling it digital entitlement and not ownership. That's
3:50
a whole other can of worms we aren't gonna open today, but they did note it's important to keep
3:54
compatibility through generations, and they're gonna do their best to keep that library intact
4:00
And a little bit they touched on was Xbox hardware, and they kind of seemingly confirmed
4:05
their next iteration of hardware. They're saying it's quote the largest technical leap ever seen in
4:10
a hardware generation. Now if you ask me, I don't think that's true, but hey, I'm gonna be hopeful
4:17
Now the cherry on top for this podcast was the announcement of a June Xbox showcase
4:23
which on one hand isn't too surprising, but hey, it's welcomed. I'd imagine this is gonna
4:28
be the showcase where that Activision Blizzard muscle will be flexed hard. And hey, even more
4:34
Game Pass announcements could be made there as well. But as for this event, I think Xbox did a
4:40
great job with clear and direct messaging to fans, which admittedly this is something I was very hard
4:45
on them about. And this is something they needed to get out in front of, and calm down that internet
4:51
hype storm. But with all that being said, I'm gonna pass this question off to you guys. What
4:56
did you think of this Xbox event? But hey, drop a like and comment on this here video
