while I did think there was going to be buzz around this game upon its release

I didn't really expect this much. As of this morning, it was reported the game sold over

6 million copies in just 4 days. Either way you go about things, the numbers this game is putting

up in such a short amount of time is just plain amazing. But today I wanted to address this

conversation I seen online centered around POW World being this long awaited Pokemon killer

And not to be the bearer of bad news for some of you guys out there

no, I don't think it's a Pokemon killer. When I first seen this argument made online

I thought it was a pretty silly one on so many levels. Sure, the game involves monster catching

and again, some of the creature's designs are eerily similar, but outside of that

that's about it. Over the weekend I took some time to really sink my teeth into POW World

and I found this title to be closer to a game like Ark Survival Evolved. Then we bundle that

all in with some open world exploration that could be found in Breath of the Wild

So as far as the genre that POW World could be lumped into, I'd say it's a survival game

while Pokemon is a turn based RPG. Also, in a more wider lens, Pokemon is the highest grossing

entertainment media franchise of all time, so it's pretty safe to say it's not going anywhere

On the other side of the coin here, POW World is very much in its infant stages of life
