As more people are getting their hands on Palworld, we are getting a clearer picture of all the things you can do in the new Pokémon-inspired survival game. If you thought seeing such colorful creatures brandishing firearms would be the most questionable content, well, we have news for you. You can use your Pokéball-like Pal Spheres to catch human beings. After they are in your inventory, you can then make them battle, sell them to the black market for a chunk of currency, or outright kill them for resources.
Palworld will have Syndicate Thugs that attack you with their own pals, similar to Pokémon’s Team Rocket and other teams. But instead of just the monsters fighting, you are included in the scrap with your guns. Take the owner’s health down enough without killing them, and you can throw a Pal Sphere to potentially catch them.
While an eye-opening thing to witness the first time you see it, catching humans in Palworld is not necessarily the best move for your long-term plans. Keeping a human in your party to do battle will leave you outclassed as you go up against bigger and tougher enemies. With that in mind, you want to focus on the monsters.
Obviously, Palworld isn’t trying to approach the family-friendly market that Pokémon has completely enveloped over the last three decades, but we have to say we were surprised to see humans be caught against their will and outright sold on the black market. We would be lying, though, if we said we never wondered why Pokéballs never worked on humans in Pokémon. Trafficking Pokémon and forcing them to fight has long been a joke about the series, but seeing Palworld extend that to humans was not expected. This is definitely one of the more eyebrow-raising games we have seen come out recently.
