Helldivers 2 mental health: Player shooting ship falling to ground

Helldivers 2 has been out for just over two months and has sold over eight million copies. Spreading democracy across has never been so fun and for one player, Helldivers 2 has had a great impact on his mental health. This goes to show how great the community has been. The user even says that they quit battle royales because of Helldivers 2 and it has made a major difference in their life.

User Chiquemund_Freud on Reddit published a post letting everyone know what a difference Helldivers 2 has made in their life. They said that even their girlfriend said, “‘I’m glad you found Helldivers. I really like hearing you have fun instead of cussing and complaining all night and coming downstairs all riled up.” If that isn’t a heartwarming story about the power of democracy, we don’t know what is.

One user commented on the post saying, “Helldivers helped me quit Warzone which I played since March 2020. It was only after I stopped playing that I realized how much of a negative toll it was having on my mental health.” Another user followed suit saying, “I’m on the same path as you, except I was hooked with Apex since COVID. Cheers!” One more user said, “Fortnite since the first lockdown and it was a big mistake.”

There has been such a positive impact from the post that Chiquemund_Freud even edited the original post saying, “It’s so cool to see that many of you share my experience. That a good game can bring you back to your hobby. Keep diving. For democracy.” It seems that trading in mind-numbing battle royales for democracy and freedom has really helped those in the Helldivers community. It is so heartwarming to see the impact that Helldivers 2 and the community have had on the mental health of gamers everywhere. Keep up the good work Helldivers! For democracy!
