There has been a lot of smoke around the notion that Nintendo will hold a Nintendo Direct presentation for the Switch 2 sometime before the end of July. From the sound of things, this event is imminent and Nintendo fans won’t have to wait too long to see what Nintendo is cooking behind the scenes for upcoming games.
Today’s new rumor comes from Nate The Hate who has now corroborated the claims for a Nintendo Direct that should be coming in late July. In his latest YouTube video Nate claims that this direct will take place after the release of Donkey Kong Banaza. While Nate doesn’t have the specific date in mind he speculates this will be within the last week of July primarily because Nintendo holds their earnings report day on August 1st.
Back in June, the Nintendo-based YouTube Channel BeatEmUps made claims on the Nontendo Podcast that a Direct was happening in July, as well as some possible game reveals. These announcements include a shadow drop for Pokémon Colosseum on the Nintendo Switch Online GameCube library and titles like Metaphor: Refantazio, Death Stranding Directors Cut, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt all coming to the Switch 2 platform. If BeatEmUps is right, also expect the release date for Metroid Prime 4 and a potential teaser card for the next Animal Crossing game coming in 2026. As usual, take these rumors with a grain of salt.
Both rumors say that the incoming Direct will take place following the release of Donkey Kong Bananza this Thursday, which indicates it will likely be shown next week or the following week. Keep in mind, while this isn’t entirely out of the realm of possibility, a Pokémon Presents is also slated to be shown next Tuesday and Nintendo most likely would not like to have both events compete with each other.
