Rumors suggest Black Ops 7’s Campaign And Multiplayer Will Merge On The Final Mission

Information about Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has been few and far between. We’ve had a mixed bag of leaks and rumors suggesting well-known characters may return, along with beloved maps from prior entries. And thanks to a new exclusive report coming from Insider Gaming and Tom Henderson, we may know more about the game’s grand finale and how a new spin might be put on the campaign, unlike anything we’ve seen before.

Thanks to sources close to Insider Gaming who wanted to remain anonymous, Black Ops 7’s rumored map, ‘Avalon,’ was initially planned as a battle royale map, but now looks to take on a new form and be the game’s final mission within the campaign. It is claimed that some POIs within Avalon will be a part of the game’s campaign, and the whole map will encapsulate the final mission. Henderson goes on to speculate that the mission sounds a lot like an extraction shooter, where players will need to complete various tasks and extract. It’s also claimed that this mission will be ‘hardcore,’ which essentially means if you are killed and your squad is wiped out, you will lose all your progress within the mission.

While this may seem like an out-of-left-field kind of move for Call of Duty, this could be a very early attempt to merge the multiplayer and campaign to promote full progression across all three of its game modes, including zombies. This could incentivise players to really sink their teeth into the campaign mode and even allow them to level up their weapons, characters, and the battle pass. But there is a question that remains of whether this will be tied to a premium experience or free to play.
