Spellcasters Chronicles had its first closed beta back in the beginning of December, and after a short time of quiet, it is gearing up for one more of those test periods before the game launches in early access. With yet another chance to play the game early, players will have access to more spells, creatures, buildings, and more. Here is everything we know.
Spellcasters Chronicles Early Access Release Date
Spellcasters Chronicles will be released into early access on February 26 on Steam. It is a free-to-play game, so even if you don’t get a chance to hop into the closed beta, which is detailed below, you only need to wait less than a month before you can get your hands on the game.
Spellcasters Chronicles Second Closed Beta Details

The second closed beta for Spellcasters Chronicles will be held January 29 – February 2, and there is quite a bit that is being added into the mix this time. Here is what was highlighted:
- A five-lane map called The Nordic Shore will be playable during the beta. It was not mentioned if the three-lane map in the previous beta will also be back.
- Fire Rain, Poison Grenade, Ice Infusion, Fire Infusion, Sacrifice, and Resurrection are six spells being added to your arsenal.
- Stone Behemoth, Lich, Faery, Steam Tank, and Wolven Hunter are the five summons being added to your potential army.
- Harpy’s Nest, Rampart, and Ballista are three buildings that can be added to your deck and built in-battle.
- A new playable tutorial is available this time around. Last time, only a video was played, so this should be a much better way to help people catch up to speed on how the game works.
- In-game team text chat is added if you want to communicate better.
- Player reporting system makes its debut.
- Players will be able to customize spellcasters and lifestones.
- An early look at the ranking system.
- New battle items.
- Various balance updates.
Additionally, optimization and performance have apparently been improved for the next closed beta, which is great to hear. While I had a really good time in the original beta, one of the biggest downpoints of that playtest was how poorly the game was running. Hopefully, things are much smoother this time around.
