Back in 2024, fans were told that the Star Wars Jedi series would not end with Survivor and would get the proper trilogy treatment. Since then, we have gotten no new details about this next installment other than the fact that Respawn is indeed hard at work on this next game. But new details are emerging from a recent interview that may just give Star Wars fans a newfound hope about the return of the beloved Cal Kestis.

Somehow, Kestis Has Returned

A recent conversation was held with Gamerant and a Lucasfilm representative that shed more light on the notion of Cal’s return to the spotlight. When asked about the future of the character, the representative replied, “Never say never. We’ve got his lightsaber in the park. We’ve got more Cal stories coming.”

To be very clear, this reply could mean a plethora of things to seasoned Star Wars fans around the globe. We don’t exactly know if this means new games, a potential TV series, or even a movie featuring the character. It was also revealed that Cal Kestis will be making his television debut  through the four-part series titled “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy- Pieces of the Past.”

Things are Turning Up Kestis

Since his debut in Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, fans have taken a liking to Cal. I’d also like to think that Respawn would potentially want to keep the door open for Cal to pop back up in some capacity, even after the final installment in the Jedi series. And if we are speaking Star Wars canon, there is a mention in some books that Luke Skywalker was fully aware of Cal’s presence. Given that the books this was brought up in were set after the events of the original trilogy, this strongly implies there is a vested interest in the character and their long-term plans for this red-haired warrior.
