Stellar Blade has been the talk of the town since the demo was released on March 29. You can’t go on X or Reddit without seeing some sort of post about the game and its protagonist EVE. There is a good reason for that. Many are obsessed with the game but not just because of its protagonist but because it has players realizing that they are using a next-gen system. Sorry Dragon’s Dogma 2 but you just didn’t cut it for a new-gen release.

In a post by blueskyredkit on Reddit, they wrote, “The graphics, the UI, the character models, most noticeably the fluidity in Stellar Blade just feel so much better, so refreshing. This is what modern gaming should be and I applaud the devs for that.” This is after they mentioned the latest hit Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Coming from Dragon Dogma’s 2, Stellar Blade demo reminds me that I am actually playing the PS5 in 2024

One user replied, “Stellar Blade feels like a game that should have been released at the launch of PS5 to push hardware sales. That may be why Sony is pushing it so hard.” We agree. The game feels like one that should be used to show the capabilities of the system. Many fans recognize that DD2 is a very different type of game but also agree that it seems as though more care was put into the execution of Stellar Blade.

Another user commented, “Coming from Final Fantasy 16… The performance is so refreshing.” Others mentioned games that were released over the past year with one user saying, “People really need to stop forgetting that and expecting late-gen performance from the get-go.” The only title mentioned that got a pass on was Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth which had people agreeing that it felt next-gen just like Stellar Blade. After playing the demo, we agree that the game feels next-gen but we cannot get over how much EVE’s hair goes through her body.
