Stellar Blade has been the target of controversy since it was announced. Many have complained about the looks of the main character EVE while some of complained about the game’s mechanics and others have mentioned the marketing. Despite all of the controversy that has surrounded the game, fans are more dedicated to it than ever and at one point it was the most pre-ordered game on the PlayStation Store.
In a post on the Stellar Blade X page on April 21, 2024, the developers confirmed that Stellar Blade will have the same uncensored version in all countries. This is a surprise considering most games are censored or changed in some way for release in other countries. It is nice to see that Shift Up is not taking any criticism from the media and is instead releasing the full uncensored version of Stellar Blade to the world.
Fans reacted very well to the news in the comments with one saying, “The pre-order was worth it after all.” Another user commented “The majority of gamers want the game uncensored. It is obvious that gamers are excited about the release of Stellar Blade. Some even stated that they were pre-ordering the game because of this post. With that being said, there are those who recognize that the game will most likely receive a lot of controversy at launch. One user commented saying, “Hope it’s the case. Y’all are going to be scrutinized heavily at launch.” Others threw out names of different media sources that they feel will attack the game most heavily saying that they should be avoided. When Stellar Blade’s launch comes around, it will definitely cause a lot of commotion in the gaming community.
