The Halloween game was announced back at Gamescom in 2025. Since then, fans have been wondering where their favorite slasher is hiding. As it turns out, fans don’t have to wait too much longer to catch a glimpse of this horror icon as he will rear his head in Boston at PAX East with a fully playable demo on the show floor.
A Scary Good Time
Developer IllFonic and co-publisher Gun Interactive have recently confirmed via an X post that a playable multiplayer demo for Halloween will be available to enjoy on the show floor at PAX East from March 26th to the 29th.
In this demo, you will dive into a 1v4 multiplayer experience where one player embodies Michael Myers himself while four others try their best to make it out alive. The demo available to fans while at PAX East will feature the map, Haddonfield Heights. It’s billed as a midwestern neighborhood filled with modest single-story homes, fenced yards, dimly lit streets, and the eerie Myers family home. Players will have to scavenge car trunks, search for an escape route, barricade themselves inside homes, and attempt to slip into hiding spots, all to avoid Michael as he stalks them from the shadows.
Are We Seeing Double? Triple?
While fans can witness history with this playable demo, there is an actual attempt at history going down in the PAX East Main theater. On Saturday, March 28th, at 12:00 pm, IllFonic will host a panel diving deeper into building authentic interactive worlds. Along with this, Compass International Pictures and Further Front will be present at the show, along with Malek Akkad, joined virtually by John Carpenter, who directed the original 1978 film. This panel will offer fans a behind-the-scenes look at how the game honors its cinematic roots, all while evolving into a new medium.
On that same day, at 3:30 pm, fans are invited to take part in an ambitious attempt for the Guinness World Record for the “Largest gathering of people dressed as Michael Myers”, at the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center, the venue that is hosting PAX East. If you’d like to participate, don’t forget the classic mask, blue jumpsuit, slicked-back brown hair combo at home!
