Twilight Princess Link and Breath of the Wild Zelda, which appear to be the inspirations for the characters in The Legend of Zelda Movie set videos.

Very little is known of The Legend of Zelda Movie at this point, but thanks to some Instagram users, we have video of the set, which recently began filming in New Zealand. In the videos, we finally get our first look at Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda, mostly in their full costumes, with a first look at what may be Impa.

What Did We Learn from The Legend of Zelda Movie Set Videos?

There are two videos we have seen of The Legend of Zelda Movie set. The first can be viewed here.

Probably the most interesting thing we have learned about The Legend of Zelda Movie here is that Link is wearing the iconic green tunic that we have known to be connected to him for decades, instead of the blue champion’s tunic introduced in Breath of the Wild. While we don’t see the hat on him here, this video is obviously taken during some downtime on the set, so we fully expect it to be in the movie. There is also no sight of the Master Sword here, so we have to wait to get our first look at that.

While Ainsworth seems to be very styled after the Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess iteration of Link, Bragason’s Zelda is wearing a blue outfit very reminiscent of her look in Breath of the Wild. She is also seen out in the forest here for the second video, receiving a sword from an unannounced character that could very well be Impa. Reddit users are saying this looks like Dichen Lachman from Severance, Jurassic World: Dominion, and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which definitely could be the case.

It’s very disappointing that this is how we got our first look at Link and Zelda in the upcoming movie, but we think they look great. Additionally, we are glad to see that Zelda appears to be taking on more of the kind of character she was in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, meaning she will probably play a very active role in the film, while Link has his classic look down.

The Legend of Zelda Movie will not be hitting theaters until 2027, so we have a long time to wait for an official trailer, but in that time, hopefully, we can get some official images or something showing Link and Zelda fully suited up and in character.
