This week, players around the world will get to experience the first major canonical update to ARK: Survival Ascended in the form of the ARK: Lost Colony DLC, and it looks to be jam-packed with wild adventures and tames alike.
The Lost Colony DLC drops survivors into an expansive city where they become the hunted. Through this adventure, they will gain access to powerful new abilities, unique gear building systems, and exotic tames, but make sure you are well-equipped for what lies ahead because demons are lurking in Arat Prime. It is up to you to connect ARK’s past and future!
This expansion will be jam-packed with new content and creatures alike, such as the Aureliax, which is dropping on launch day for the DLC on December 18th. As revealed on ARK’s Community Crunch, the Aureliax is a serpent-like dragon that possesses telekinetic powers. But to tame this beast will not be an easy task by any stretch of the word. By the Aureliax’s own demand, players must prove their worth before being able to tame it. The Aureliax just happens to be one of many beasts that are included within the Lost Colony DLC, such as the Ossidon, Drakeling shoulder pet, and the Veilwyn.
The Lost Colony update will also serve as a narrative bridge between Extinction and the upcoming ARK 2. There will also be featured voice actors, including the Academy Award-winning actress Michelle Yeoh, who will reprise her role as Mei Yin in ARK: The Animated Series, Madeleine Madden as Helena Walker, Katie Sackhoff as Diana Altaras, and Keith David as ARK’s newest villain, The Lost King.
The Lost Colony DLC will be dropping on Thursday, December 18th, on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
